Ananya Panday’s brother, Ahaan Panday, is all set to enter Bollywood with his first film titled Saiyaara. The movie is directed by Mohit Suri, best known for Aashiqui 2, and will hit cinemas worldwide on July 18, 2025.
A Big Launch Under Yash Raj Films
The romantic drama marks Ahaan’s debut and is being produced by Yash Raj Films (YRF). This is also the first time the studio is teaming up with director Mohit Suri. Interestingly, the movie is the first production venture of YRF CEO Akshaye Widhani. The film stars newcomer Aneet Padda as the female lead alongside Ahaan. The production house described the movie as an “intense love story.”
In an official announcement, YRF wrote: “Yash Raj Films’ romantic film SAIYAARA, which introduces Ahaan Panday in the Hindi film industry & also stars Aneet Padda as the female lead, is set to release on July 18, 2025 in theatres worldwide. Presented by Aditya Chopra, Directed by Mohit Suri & Produced by Akshaye Widhani, SAIYAARA, is an intense love story that brings YRF and Mohit Suri together for the first time!”
YRF’s “Next Big Hero”
The buzz around Ahaan’s launch began last year when YRF featured him on their website as their “Next Big Hero.” According to the studio, Ahaan had been training under Aditya Chopra’s guidance for over six years before signing his debut film.
Before officially joining the project, Ahaan met Mohit Suri for several auditions and screen tests. A trade source revealed: “Ahaan was introduced to Mohit Suri so that the director could assess if he was the right actor to headline his film and be the quintessential romantic hero. Ahaan worked under Mohit’s supervision and floored him with his auditions and multiple screen tests! Mohit wanted a fresh, young boy who had the charisma to be a hero on the big screen, and he is supremely excited about Ahaan’s potential.”
Ahaan’s Background in Filmmaking
Before stepping in front of the camera, Ahaan worked behind the scenes. He served as an Assistant Director on films like The Railway Men and Mardaani 2, giving him early exposure to the industry.
With strong backing from YRF, guidance from Mohit Suri, and years of training, Saiyaara is shaping up to be a major launchpad for Ahaan Panday’s career.
