Actor Ajaz Khan Faces Rape Charges Over Alleged Assaults Linked to Acting Promises

Actor Ajaz Khan has been booked for rape following allegations by a 30-year-old woman, who claimed that Khan sexually assaulted her multiple times under the guise of helping her enter the film industry. According to PTI, the woman filed a complaint at Charkop police station, leading to the registration of a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which address sexual assault.

Police confirmed the investigation is ongoing, but no arrests have been made so far.

Repeat Allegations Surface Against Ajaz Khan

This incident isn’t Khan’s first controversy. He was previously named in a case involving the web series House Arrest, which streamed on the Ullu app. The actor was accused of promoting vulgar content. Clips from the show circulating on social media appeared to show Khan pressuring participants, including women, into performing intimate scenes and answering obscene questions.

Obscenity Case Filed Over ‘House Arrest’ Web Series

An official from the Amboli police station said, “Based on a complaint lodged by Gautam Ravriya, an activist of Bajrang Dal, the police registered a case against actor Ajaz Khan, producer Rajkumar Pandey of the web show House Arrest, and other persons from Ullu app.”

The complaint alleged that the show used obscene language and depicted acts that insulted the modesty of women. It also noted that Ravriya had received multiple public complaints and messages regarding the nature of the show.

The producer and Khan have been charged under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Information Technology Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.

Shiv Sena Leader Criticises OTT Platforms for Vulgar Content

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi publicly condemned the show on social media. Sharing a clip from House Arrest, she wrote, “I have raised this in the standing committee that apps such as this, namely, Ullu App and Alt Balaji have managed to escape the ban by I&B ministry on apps for obscene content. I am still awaiting their reply.”

Despite the uproar, authorities have yet to make arrests in either case.
