Aamir Khan Hosts Bash To Celebrate Junaid Khan’s Debut Film ‘Maharaj’

Actor Aamir Khan’s son, Junaid Khan, debuted in June with Siddharth P Malhotra’s Netflix film ‘Maharaj’. To celebrate the film’s success, Junaid’s parents, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta, hosted a bash in Mumbai for the film’s team.

Junaid’s debut performance received praise from critics and audiences alike, prompting his father, Aamir, to throw a success bash on Wednesday. Dressed in all white, Aamir posed for photographers and greeted his mother. The celebration was attended by actor Imran Khan and his girlfriend, Lekha Washington. Junaid’s co-stars Jaideep Ahlawat and Shalini Pandey, along with director Siddharth P Malhotra, were also present.

Sharing pictures from the bash, including one with Aamir, the director wrote, “Always a fan for life…loved him then, love him now and forever #aamirkhan.” He also thanked the audience for their support, noting that ‘Maharaj’ ranked in the top 10 Netflix films with 152.3 million minutes watched between July 19-25.

About Maharaj

‘Maharaj’ is based on a real-life case, with Junaid playing a journalist and social reformer named Karsandas Mulji. He exposes a religious leader, the titular Maharaj played by Jaideep Ahlawat, for immoral behavior and sexual exploitation of his female devotees. The film, set in 1800s Bombay, is inspired by Saurabh Shah’s book and also stars Sharvari.

In an interview with ANI, Junaid spoke about his father’s feedback on ‘Maharaj’. “He normally lets us do what we want to do unless we ask for something very specific; then he gives advice. But he liked the film. He saw the film a few months ago and he quite liked it.”

Upcoming Work

Junaid is set to direct and star in ‘Ek Din‘ alongside Sai Pallavi, produced by Aamir Khan and shot in Japan. He is also reportedly working on a romantic comedy with Khushi Kapoor.

This celebration not only marks a milestone in Junaid’s career but also highlights the strong support from his family and the Bollywood community.
