The senior leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from Jammu and Kashmir has been summoned to the National Capital for a four-day stint starting February 16. The key figures, including BJP J&K President Ravinder Raina, BJP J&K General Secretary (Org) Ashok Koul, and National Secretary Narinder Singh, are expected to attend the meetings in New Delhi. J&K In-charge Tarun Chugh will also be present during this period.

According to sources, the senior leadership will be in the National Capital from February 16 to 19, with three important meetings scheduled during this period. On February 16, the BJP National Executive meeting will take place, followed by the National Council meeting on February 17 and 18. On February 19, a meeting on BJP’s J&K affairs is scheduled, although the head of the meeting is yet to be announced.

Two resolutions on core agendas expected to be passed
During the two-day National Council meeting in New Delhi on February 17 and 18, the BJP is likely to pass resolutions applauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the abrogation of Article 370 and the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Both these issues have been central to the BJP’s agenda since its inception and were accomplished during the ongoing tenure of the party at the Centre.

Massive participation expected ahead of Lok Sabha Polls
The National Council meeting is anticipated to witness significant participation, with over 250 functionaries from Jammu and Kashmir set to take part. This series of meetings is expected to mark major events for the BJP leading up to the Lok Sabha Polls in 2024. The two-day event will include the participation of BJP State office bearers, Core Committee members, Discipline Committee, Finance Committee, and Election Committee members, former State presidents, Lok Sabha cluster in-charges, Lok Sabha coordinators, and Lok Sabha conveners. National spokespersons, State/UT chief spokespersons, State Media Coordinators, Social Media Coordinators, and IT Coordinators will also be part of the gathering.
