The BJP slammed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for abandoning the corrupt party leaders when she should have supported them.

Another shock for the Trinamool Congress came when eminent leader Anubrata Mondol was arrested in a cattle smuggling case by the CBI. He had omitted the summons for questioning over 10 times, after which he was sent to 10-day custody by the CBI.

Amit Malviya, BJP IT cell head, warned the other TMC leaders of Banerjee’s indifferent approach towards the party members and bureaucrats and claimed that Mamta Banerjee stopped responding to the calls of Mondol and Chatterjee after they were circled by the investigative agencies.

Mamata Banerjee stopped picking up Partha and Anubroto’s calls just when they needed her the most.

“She deserted them when it got inconvenient,” Malviya posted on Twitter. “Message to other ministers, TMC workers and bureaucrats, who have colluded with her to loot, murder and rape-you too will be abandoned.”

Trinamool immediately removed Partha as a minister, whereas extended support to Mondol, refusing any actions against him.

Senior leader and minister Chandrima Bhattacharya said, “The party doesn’t support any form of corruption or wrongdoing. We have zero tolerance for corruption. The party will take the appropriate decision (on Mondal) at the right time. An allegation against someone doesn’t prove him guilty.”

“We have serious doubts about the functioning of the central agencies. We have seen that they are silent when it comes to taking action against the BJP. There are leaders against whom there are allegations of corruption,” she added.

The TMC is expected to stage a protest against the misuse of central agencies.
