The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party is blaming BJP MPs for demolishing slums in Civil Lines and threatening further demolitions in Brar Square. Senior AAP leader and MLA Durgesh Pathak accused Delhi’s BJP MPs of rendering the poor homeless by using departments under their control to demolish their houses.
Durgesh Pathak claims the demolition in Civil Lines is illegal, targeting Hindu families from Pakistan who have lived there for 70–80 years. He questions whether the orders came from the Lieutenant Governor, BJP MPs, a central minister, or Bansuri Swaraj, and calls for an investigation and strict action against those responsible.
Pathak said the Aam Aadmi Party demands that whoever is behind these two cases be investigated and strict action be taken. The people of Delhi have elected BJP MPs, so it is their responsibility to stop these actions. The AAP MLA states, “We have taken this matter to court, and we hope we will get justice from there too, but this action of the BJP is completely wrong, and it is a conspiracy to ruin Delhi.” Durgesh Pathak stated that for the past 10 days, houses of poor people in Delhi have been demolished by departments under BJP MPs. He mentioned that the DDA recently demolished many homes in Civil Lines and continues to threaten more demolitions. Additionally, the Railway Department has issued notices to demolish thousands of slums in Loha Mandi, Budh Nagar, and Inderpuri near Brar Square before July 22.
Durgesh Pathak criticized BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj for not visiting or assuring the residents of Brar Square after the railway issued demolition notices six days ago. He holds her responsible for any demolitions, as the railway department falls under her jurisdiction.

Similarly, he pointed out that BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal has been unresponsive, not visiting the affected people in Chandni Chowk even five days after their houses were demolished. Pathak lamented that no BJP MP is taking responsibility for these actions.
