In wake of the forthcoming assembly polls to be slated next year, the ruling BJP-JJP and opposite factions, namely Congress and INLD, are at loggerheads to prove their dominance over each other. Besides, the existing alliance between the saffron BJP and the JJP continues to remain in discussion in political spheres after the BJP leaders indicated that contesting the upcoming polls in alliance with JJP may weaken party’s position.
Earlier, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. For the forthcoming Assembly and Parliamentary polls in Rajasthan to be held in 2023 and 2024 respectively, the party high command is having a close eye on the alliance with the JJP as the party has made up its mind to contest the elections in Rajasthan at least on 25 constituencies. Political experts are of the opinion that the JJP may affect elections on several seats.
Earlier, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had made his stand clear that the BJP is the main ruling party while its ally JJP is playing minor role which had annoyed the JJP bigwigs to some extent. He had also made it clear that JJP’s role in the government is negligible and the BJP is the lone authority to take final call to any issue and any kind of interference in it will be unacceptable from JJP.
BJP state President OP Dhankhar also said that he is not in a position to comment on the fate of the alliance as the party high command is the sole authority to take a call on this issue. At the same time, he is of the opinion that the party is fully prepared for the Assembly polls to be held next year on 90 assembly seats.
Following the state of the Chief Minister, the JJP came on the backfoot and the party leaders expressed their objection to this.
