‘BJP expert in dividing people on caste, and religion’: Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren

At the ‘Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ event, Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren accused the BJP of dividing voters along caste and religious lines, while urging citizens to stand united and resist attempts to destabilize the state’s governance ahead of the assembly elections.

At a recent public gathering in Torpa for the ‘Aapki Sarkar Aapke Dwar’ initiative, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren delivered a pointed attack on the BJP, accusing them of trying to manipulate the state’s electoral process. Soren alleged that the BJP was preparing to bring in their workers to “loot the votes” by creating divisions based on caste and religion. He emphasized that Jharkhand’s brave history of resistance would prevent such attempts, urging the people not to be intimidated.

The event, part of a larger state-run program aimed at addressing citizens’ grievances and implementing welfare schemes, also served as a platform for Soren to criticize the opposition for destabilizing the state’s governance through alleged MLA poaching. He accused the BJP of deploying divisive tactics and fostering communal tensions, specifically targeting the unity of the local communities.

This comes amidst growing political tensions in the state, as both the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and the BJP gear up for the upcoming assembly elections. The BJP’s national leadership has also been active in the region, which added further significance to Soren’s rallying call to defend the state’s interests and resist external political influences​.
