As a mark of respect to the martyred soldiers in the India-China face-off at Galwan Valley in Ladakh, the BJP has cancelled all its 26 virtual rallies in Bihar till the end of this month.

The party had planned six rallies in the six Assembly constituencies on Wednesday. Leaders like Nitya Nand Rai and Ravi Shankar Prasad were supposed to address these rallies. After Amit Shah’s successful rally, the BJP had planned massive virtual rallies all across the 243 assemblies.

A senior BJP leader, who did not want to be named, told The Daily Guardian, “We have roped in several senior leaders of the party and have planned their rallies accordingly. For maximum reach we are trying to reach out to the people through all possible means. We are giving out our YouTube links, asking people to connect to us through Facebook and other mediums. We are confident that we will be able to connect to a vast majority of the electorate.”

Twenty Indian soldiers were killed in a “violent faceoff” with Chinese troops in Ladakh after they tried to “unilaterally change the status quo there”, the Army said in a statement on Tuesday
