Last year, in NOV 2022, Bollywood actor Karan Singh Grover and actress Bipasha Basu welcomed their daughter, Devi Basu Singh Grover. Bipasha tells her and Karan’s journey as parents. Now, she opens that her daughter was born with two holes in her heart.
She interacted with Neha Dhupia on an Instagram live telling when Devi was 3-months old, she had to undergo surgery. Bipasha says, “their (Karan and her) journey wasn’t much easy like other normal parents. As a new mother, on the third day, I got to know that my baby is born with two holes in her heart. I wasn’t sure about sharing this news to the public, then thought, there were lot of mothers who helped me in this difficult time. Those mothers aren’t easy to find.”Her daughter was diagnosed with VSD (ventricular septal defect), she added. She said, “me and Karan didn’t know what is a VSD. It is a ventricular septal defect. The time we went through was hard time for us. Even in our family, we both didn’t disclose about this thing, we both were in a little bit of a blur. Due to numbness, me and Karan were not able to celebrate the born of our baby.”Talking about the surgery, they both prepared themselves. She added, “the first five months were really difficult for both of us. Doctor informed us that every month we need to have a scan of Devi to know whether the holes are filling or not. But Devi had a large hole, that was doubtful and she has to go through surgery. And the surgery is only possible, when Devi is of 3 months.” She also told that Karan wasn’t ready for the surgery.
In the third month, when they went for the scan, Bipasha did all the research, met many doctors, went to various hospitals then, she was ready. But Karan wasn’t. Bipasha said, “ I knew that she had to be okay and I knew that she will be okay. And she is okay now. But the tough decision was to get your child operated at the right place and at the right time.” Interacting with Neha, she said that the Devi was in surgery for 6 hrs.
Swearing on God, Bipasha added that she didn’t sleep for 40 days and 40 nights. With this, she gave an update to her fans that her daughter, Devi is now fine. The couple tied the knot in 2016.
