Fans of American singer Billie Eilish have reason to be excited as she recently hinted that her highly anticipated third studio album is on the horizon. In an Instagram post on Wednesday night, Eilish shared pictures of herself wearing a ninja mask adorned with stars and revealed, “My album is mastered.”

While Eilish has not provided further details about the album, mastering is typically the final step in the recording process. This new album follows her critically acclaimed albums ‘Happier Than Ever’ released in 2021 and ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?’ released in 2019.

In 2022, Eilish released a two-track EP titled ‘Guitar Songs’ and won awards for her single “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie soundtrack. During an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in December, Eilish mentioned that she was close to completing her third album, stating, “We are almost done with this new album. So, at some point, you will know more, but I’m not gonna say anything right now.”

In a September interview with The Cookout, Eilish teased the upcoming album, saying, “There is lots of music coming… There is a whole album of music coming. We’re in the final stages of making it, so that doesn’t mean it’s about to come out, but it is getting there, and it’s very exciting.”

Eilish also discussed her creative struggles before writing “What Was I Made For?” during a roundtable discussion with the Hollywood Reporter in November. She admitted feeling concerned that she had lost her creative spark, but collaborating on the Barbie soundtrack with director Greta Gerwig revitalized her creativity. Eilish expressed gratitude to Gerwig, stating, “Greta saved me, really, honestly… It brought us out of it and immediately we were inspired and wrote so much more after that.”
