In a grand swearing-in ceremony held in Jaipur on Friday, Bhajanlal Sharma, BJP MLA from Sanganer, took the oath as the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. The oath of office was administered by Rajasthan Governor Kalraj Mishra, in the presence of dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President JP Nadda.

Diya Kumari and Prem Chand Bairwa were also sworn in as Deputy Chief Ministers of the state. The event drew political luminaries, with Chief Ministers from other states, including Pramod Sawant (Goa), Manik Saha (Tripura), Eknath Shinde (Maharashtra), Bhupendra Patel (Gujarat), and Pushkar Singh Dhami (Uttarakhand) gracing the occasion.

Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, along with Union Ministers Arjun Ram Meghwal and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, attended the swearing-in ceremony. Notably, Nitin Gadkari, a prominent figure in the BJP, was also present at the event.

Bhajanlal Sharma, hailing from Rajasthan’s eastern district, Bharatpur, enjoys substantial support from the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Holding a master’s degree in political science, he secured victory in the Sanganer assembly seat with an impressive margin, garnering 145,162 votes against his Indian National Congress (INC) opponent, Pushpendra Bhardwaj, who polled 97,081 votes.

Prem Chand Bairwa, the sitting BJP MLA from the Dudu constituency, won the seat in the 2023 Rajasthan Assembly Election by defeating Congress candidate Babulal Nagar with a margin of 35,743 votes.

Diya Kumari, a member of the erstwhile Royal Family of Jaipur, emerged victorious from the Vidyadhar Nagar constituency, defeating Congress’ Sitaram Agarwal by a substantial margin of 71,368 votes.

In the recent elections, the BJP secured a commanding lead in Rajasthan, winning 115 seats, while the Congress trailed with 69 seats. The state went to the polls for 199 of the 200 assembly seats on November 25, with the majority mark set at 100.
