When reacting to the prices of South Indian cuisine at a restaurant in Bengaluru, someone commented, “This is what I used to pay 15 years ago in Mumbai.” A woman in Bengaluru, craving dosa, idli, vada, and sambar, visited a South Indian restaurant but was surprised by the prices on the menu. She shared a photo of the menu on X (formerly Twitter) and compared it to the well-known Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru, famous for its South Indian cuisine. “What in the Rameshwaram are these prices,” wrote X user Sahili Totale, sharing a picture on X. She then revealed that the restaurant is Taaza Thindi in Jayanagar, Bengaluru. One picture showed the menu, where a single idli and vada are priced at ₹10, and a masala dosa costs ₹20.

She also shared a photo of her order, which included dosa, idli, and vada. Here are some reactions to her post:- “I’ve been a Taaza Thindi fan for the past 4-5 years,” posted one person.- Another added, “This is way better than Rameshwaram.”- “You guys are so lucky; the prices are insane. In Goa, we get overpriced South Indian food at new-age QSR outlets. Dosa is ₹120-₹150 and tastes terrible,” expressed a third person.
– A fourth commented, “In Kolkata, idli costs ₹55 per piece in South Indian restaurants.”
– “Wow! This is what I used to pay 15 years ago in Mumbai. I wish we had these prices, or even slightly higher, in Mumbai,” remarked a fifth.
– A sixth added, “This is dirt cheap. In NCR, normal restaurants like Haldiram’s sell masala dosa for around ₹250.”
