The City of Bengaluru has recorded heavy rainfall on June 2 in a single day in June, after 133 years. Recording 111.1 mm of rain.
Taking to X, Bengaluru weather said, ‘Bengaluru rains break the 133-year-old record with the highest rainfall in a single day in June. Bengaluru city has seen an unprecedented 111.1 mm of rainfall on June 2, 2024.’

@Bngweather handle further added, that on June 16, 1891, heavy rain was recorded at 101.6 mm.
Meanwhile, IMD has issued orange alert for 6 states of India. Indicating, heavy to very heavy rainfall on June 3.

Coastal Andhra Pradesh
Yanam
Assam
Meghalaya
As for different parts of the country, some regions across the plains of Northwest India may experience rain and thunderstorms, aligning with the anticipated arrival of a Western Disturbance from June 5 to June 7.
Additionally, in states like Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, isolated heavy precipitation is predicted from June 3 to June 6.
