Bangal BJP leaders protested in front of the Chief Minister’s house over the death of a BJP leader from Magrahat. BJP leaders, led by BJP state president Sukanta Majumder, staged a protest on the streets of Bhabanipur, with the body of dead BJP leader Manas Saha. The dead body of the BJP leader on the road started shocking the police. Tensions flared in Bhabanipur on Thursday evening over the incident.
While protesting in Kalighat, BJP leaders marched towards the CM’s house. On the same day, the BJP candidate from Magrahat Saha’s body was taken straight from the BJP office to Bhabanipur.
After leaving Esplanade and passing through Bhabanipur, they arrived in front of the CM’s house with the body of the deceased. The road came to a standstill due to strong protests. Heavy traffic jam started. Police rushed to the spot. There again big trouble started with the police. After some time, the police asked to shift the body from the spot and then the leaders left for Keoratala for the cremation of the dead BJP leader.
It may be mentioned that Saha was attacked on the day of the counting of Ekushey votes. From then on, the physical illness started. Later that day, Saha died at the hospital. Majumdar has once again become vocal in accusing the TMC leader of inciting post-poll violence against the state over the death of the BJP leader.
Regarding the protest in front of the CM’s house on that day, the BJP state president told that they went there with a simple question, “How many more bodies will the CM calm down? Seeing Saha’s corpse, it seemed as if he was smiling. After the vote, the CM pleaded for an end to the post-poll violence, as if Saha was dead and he was laughing at the words! ”
He again lashed out at the police saying that the police had tried to hijack Saha’s body. Majumder scoffed that the democracy of Bengal was misguided. Meanwhile, the TMC has strongly condemned the protest procession. MP Saugata Roy claims that the BJP wants to keep the story of post-poll violence alive. They want to stay in the campaign like this. He claimed that there were no more incidents of violence in the state. The TMC MP also said that there was no evidence that Saha’s death was caused by post-election violence.
Meanwhile, Majumdar’s sarcastic remark to Roy was that if a TMC MP comes out of the car with him one day, he would show whether the post-vote violence is still going on.
