Behold The World Of Bookstagram

Bookstagrammers go beyond just reading books, they also take beautiful photos of them and share them on Instagram.

Books the more said the less it is. This week I give an account of instagram accounts I stalk: Book collector’s social (read #bookstagram). It is 2022 and books not only dispense knowledge and supply entertainment but also lend aesthetics to decor.

A book aesthete (if I may coin my own term) @yuki.reads has an array of books displayed attractively (photograph inset). She is one of the many who post unseaworthy flatlays with books placed in various fashions. In addition to reviewing the stories she has this wondrous knack of making book arrangements look uber chic.

Bookstagram Accounts For Book Lovers To Follow In 2022

Apurva and Mansi go under their penname @frenchflaps_and_deckleedges on Instagram committed to religiously consuming and reviewing books. They also do not lose a chance to adeptly posting books styled in their antique and cosy study with their steaming cuppa.

Valentine’s day saw imaginative book bloggers make enchanting heart book (ques) and was I floored. The arrangement showcased hues of rouge vibing with the Valentine’s theme. You can be in a relationship with 7 books without being judged, just saying. In the words of Thea Dorn “Take a good book to bed with you-books do not snore’’.

Books, in addition to that make terrific room accents and scents ( remember offline libraries) there are shelves beautified by books arranged in rainbow colours to magnificent leather bound gold etched entities ( Jane Austen leather bound books are another level of feasting).

Tactility is still very in, in the book-verse. A book needs to be held, felt and smelt. People are investing in making spaces conducive to work and relaxation these sacred reads find their way on smart bookshelves ranging from the Ikea to Fabindia. I know many friends who have made spaces in their homes, devoted to books (whether they read them or not it never hurt to look like you possess intellect).

Funny how Kindlers too (folks who use kindle) are clicking photos of book covers and styling them all over their Instagram profiles.

I had to plead my angelic (because she agreed) to get the American edition cover of the Ace of Spades. It may be number 11 on my TBR (To be read) but what the heck!

There are dime a dozen such accounts on the gram and boy oh boy do they possess talents. Some came their book arrangements look like shade cards.

A blue ranging from a chalk one to an azure and not to forget the Tiffany blue. Phew!

It is a feel good sight. Books Illustrators are doing a swell job with whimsical graphics and fonts so credit to them too. Book reading stimulates now both the mind and the aesthetic sense. The righbrained may arrange according to hues. The leftbrained can arrange by genre.

Never judge a book by its cover, they said. The application of this idiom, some would argue, does not hold true for books. At least not on #bookstagram.
