The Bangladesh Air Force’s C-130J transport aircraft departed from Hindon Air Force base on Tuesday morning at around 9 AM IST, heading to its next destination, as per sources. Indian security agencies are closely monitoring the flight. It is important to note that Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is not on board this aircraft. The C-130J is carrying seven military personnel back to its base in Bangladesh.

Sheikh Hasina arrived in India on Monday evening after submitting her resignation. It remains unclear if she will stay in Delhi or relocate elsewhere. Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar chaired an all-party meeting in Parliament on Tuesday to brief leaders about the current situation in Bangladesh.

Jaishankar detailed the developments in Bangladesh, including Sheikh Hasina’s move to India and India’s commitment to her safety. He stated, “Sheikh Hasina is in India, and the Indian government wants to give her time to let us know her future plans.”

On his social media, Jaishankar posted, “Briefed an All-Party meeting in Parliament today about the ongoing developments in Bangladesh. Appreciate the unanimous support and understanding that was extended.”

During the meeting, Jaishankar mentioned that the central government is also in communication with the Bangladesh Army and assured that appropriate actions will be taken as the situation evolves. He informed the leaders that there are approximately 20,000 Indian nationals in Bangladesh, with 8,000 having already returned to India. The Indian government remains in touch with the nationals and the High Commission in Bangladesh continues its operations.

The leaders were also informed that the focus is on protecting minorities in Bangladesh. The country is currently experiencing political instability following Sheikh Hasina’s resignation amidst growing protests, primarily led by students demanding an end to the quota system for government jobs, which have now escalated into broader anti-government demonstrations.
