At least ten people have been swept away in the Awaran and Zhob areas of Balochistan as a result of heavy rains, Dawn reported citing the officials of Disaster Management.
Eight of the ten people killed in flash floods belonged to a family driving from Awaran to Kalat. The family consisted of eight people includes three women, two children, and three men. A team of Levies organisation along with administrators from Awaran rushed to the area to find the bodies.
Jummadad Khan, the deputy commissioner of Awaran, called the media house Dawn to say that levies had discovered 7 bodies and they were transporting them to a nearby hospital.
The tragic incident occurred as the family, from Kalat’s Surab neighbourhood, was returning home. “The administration has sent seven out of eight bodies via ambulance to their native town (Surab),” Khan claimed.
At least two people died on their own at Zhob. The local media reported that several houses were also damaged as a result of the heavy rains.
