BAJAJ LAUNCHES THE PULSAR 250, BIGGEST IN THE LINE-UP

The Pune-based bike maker has launched the biggest and most powerful Pulsar yet in the market, the Pulsar 250. The bike has been launched in two iterations, the Pulsar N250 and Pulsar F250.

The iconic Bajaj Pulsar is celebrating its 20 years of its existence in the Indian motorcycle market. During this journey the Pulsar moniker has been seen on bikes ranging from 125 cc to 220 cc and it won’t be wrong to say that it has taken Bajaj to many new markets across the world. Now the Pune-based bike maker has launched the biggest and most powerful Pulsar yet in the market, the Pulsar 250. The bike has been launched in two iterations – the Pulsar N250 (naked) and Pulsar F250 (semi-faired). They’ve been priced at Rs. 1.38 lakh and Rs. 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) respectively.

The Pulsar 250 design language boasts of a unibody gesture with tighter proportions and modern aerodynamic design. The muscular tank is contrasted with a sleek waist section that extends to a contoured step seat. It is further equipped with what Bajaj says is a sportier and throatier exhaust in a satin grey finish. The floating body panels such as the belly pan, front fairing, and front fender along with the wider tyres complete the profile of the new Pulsar. The bike also gets newly developed premium metallic dual colours that evoke a ‘singular first look’ at the front cowl. In addition to this the new Pulsar 250 also gets satin black finishes to the side covers and tank-side inners which contrast the metallic gloss on the tank and seat cowl. The engine covers are finished in deep copper flanked by the ‘Siberian Silver’ pivot plate and the floating belly pan.

The new Pulsar 250 gets an LED projector unipod headlamp unit with flanking reverse-boomerang LED DRLs for enhanced white light viewing experience, along with a uniform and accurate beam pattern for improved safety. An infinity display console is added as a nod to the golden age of performance motorcycling. The bike also gets utility features like USB mobile charging near the tank flap, gear position indicator and distance to empty readout. The Pulsar 250 comes in 2 colour options – techno grey & racing red.

Bajaj says the Pulsar 250 brings the free-revving, unfettered power to the quarter-litre segment. The 250 cc DTS-i oil cooled engine delivers 24.5 PS along with a peak torque of 21.5 Nm. The bike maker is promising a meaty mid-range and nimble-footed handling to enhance everyday riding performance of the bikes. To aid this they also get features like a new monoshock unit and an assist & slipper clutch which allows for aggressive downshifting with confidence, along with an effortless clutch pull. For braking they get 300 mm front and 230 mm rear bigger-disc brakes with ABS with larger tyre dimensions for better grip.

Dominar 400 gets touring accessories

Bajaj has recently also launched an upgrade on the Dominar 400 upgrade. The sports tourer now gets factory-fitted touring accessories and is tailormade for riders who prefer strong touring essentials. In its new avatar, the bike has a more distinctive front end with an angular and stylish tall visor. Developed with CFD technology, the tall visor is designed to offer good wind-blast protection thus improving rider comfort. The bike also features aerodynamically sculpted fighter jet-inspired hand guard with flexi-winglets for maximum wind protection. The machine has been designed to make touring better with a functional carrier for luggage. The added back stopper ensures pillion comfort.

Its touring-friendly features also include an engine bash plate with integrated metal skid plate, which offers good impact protection. The rather discreet leg guard offers superior crash protection, and the saddle stay ensures that bags stay securely in place. The Dominar 400 also comes equipped with a navigation stay that allows riders to attach a navigation device. This cast aluminum stay is sturdy and positioned ergonomically to avoid blocking the road view. The bike also now comes equipped with a USB charging port.

Dominar 400 runs on a liquid cooled 373.3cc DOHC FI engine, delivering 40 PS Power and 35 Nm Torque. It features 43 mm up-side down (USD) forks and a twin barrel exhaust that produces a throaty note with a heavy bass, enhancing the sports tourer feel. All the accessories, apart from saddle stay, will come as standard on the Dominar 400. The bike is available in 2 colour options – aurora green and charcoal black and is priced at Rs. 2.16 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
