Under the ‘Ayushman Bhave’ campaign, the district health department started Ayushman Health insurance card generation and other health awareness activities in various government health facilities here today. Giving out the details, Civil Surgeon Dr. Mahesh Kumar Ahuja said that the drive will continue till October 2 during which health insurance cards and ‘ABHA’ identification accounts are to be created for every eligible beneficiary and people will be sensitized about organ donation, blood donation, non-communicable diseases, tuberculosis, etc.
He added that Ayushman cards of eligible beneficiaries were made in various government health institutions across the district. Apart from this, Health Melas were also organized in many villages during which health workers motivated people to donate organs and blood. Cleanliness campaign was also conducted in many government institutions. People were also given information about the symptoms, causes, prevention, and treatment of various diseases.
The Civil Surgeon urged people to be a part of this campaign with full enthusiasm so that free health services can be made available for every person. Notably, the campaign is an extension of the already ongoing Ayushman Bharat-Pardhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana under which free health insurance coverage up to Rs 5 lakh is being given to the eligible beneficiaries. The drive has been launched by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare which aims to raise awareness about various health schemes and to provide maximum healthcare facilities in villages and cities.
