Taliban Attacks 3 Female Polling Agents During Pakistan Elections: NDM Leader Mohsin Dawar

Mohsin Dawar, Chairman of Pakistan‘s National Democratic Movement (NDM), stated that the Taliban attacked three female polling agents in Tappi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, during the recent general elections.
However, the three women narrowly escaped the detonation.
NDM leader Dawar also petitioned the District Returning Officer (DRO) to modify the polling stations in Tappi, but his letter was rejected.

Furthermore, he requested that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) take immediate action to address the security situation in Tappi.

“Three of our female polling agents in Tappi has been attacked by Taliban. They have escaped the blast very narrowly. I had written to the DRO to change the polling stations in Tappi but my letter was ignored. The ECP has to take notice of the security situation in Tappi urgently,” NDM leader Mohsin Dawar stated in a post shared on X.

Earlier today, one security man was murdered in an attack on a security forces vehicle in Dera Ismail Khan, Pakistan. According to Samaa TV, assailants attacked the election truck.
The event occurred in the Kot Azam area on the day that national and state assembly elections were being held.
Elections have been postponed in one national and three provincial assembly constituencies due to the deaths of contesting candidates. This includes NA-8 (Bajaur), PK-22 (Bajaur), PK-91 (Kohat), and PP-266 (Rahim Yar Khan).

As the vote process continues in Swat, security measures have been tightened at all sensitive polling sites, with more than 6,500 police officers deployed, according to Swat District Police Officer Shafiullah Gandapur.
Security has been heightened at crucial polling places to guarantee a smooth and secure electoral process.

Furthermore, the ECP has designated around 50% of voting locations in the country as “sensitive” or “most sensitive”.
