On Tuesday, the Enforcement Directorate conducted raids at 24 locations throughout various states. The raids were being carried out in Delhi, Haryana, Bihar, and Jharkhand. According to sources, the central agency searched the Ranchi home of Virendra Ram, the top engineer for the Jharkhand government’s ministry of rural development.
A significant sum of money was recouped from one of his employees in 2019. The Prevention of Money Laundering Act afterwards gave the ED control of the case. Raids were also carried out in Jamshedpur and Ranchi.
