A ground-level survey of the Kannauj parliamentary constituency was conducted by India News to analyse the performance of Subrat Pathak, the Member of Parliament from Kannauj, and to gather voters’ feedback about him.
Subrat Pathak, an Indian politician, secured victory in the 2019 Indian general election, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the Lok Sabha from Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh, defeating Dimple Yadav. He serves as the General Secretary of BJP, Uttar Pradesh, and is a former President of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha. Pathak, a significant figure in the BJP’s UP organization, has been in the political spotlight for his statements and activities.
Despite a defeat in 2009, he contested again in 2014 and 2019, winning the latter. Kannauj, known for its fragrance and history, has 5 assembly seats, with Muslims, Yadavs, SCs, and Brahmin-Rajputs influencing electoral dynamics. As Kannauj gears up for the 2024 general election, Subrat Pathak’s performance will be scrutinised based on parliamentary, ground-level, and social media evaluations, along with accurate surveys.
In terms of parliamentary presence, the number of questions asked, MP fund utilization, and special contributions, Kannauj Lok Sabha MP Subrat Pathak scores 1 out of 0.85, which is an excellent performance as an MP. This means that Subrat Pathak has achieved nearly 85% in parliamentary performance, showcasing his remarkable contribution in parliamentary activities.
Parliamentary performance holds little significance during elections; the real measure is what the constituents think about their MP on the ground. India News conducted a survey, asking questions to the people of the Kannauj Lok Sabha constituency. The respondents provided open and candid answers after conversations with thousands of people. Let’s see what the public’s verdict is. As mentioned earlier, India News allocated 70% attention to the survey evaluation. According to this, 7 out of 10 marks were given, and our questions were evaluated based on these 7 marks.
The people of Kannauj Lok Sabha have candidly answered our six questions. Without evasion, they responded to each question. Most people believe that the MP’s work is excellent, and the focus is on development in the constituency. While the public is generally satisfied with the MP’s work, they would like to see more active involvement in the constituency. The majority view is that the MP’s work has been beneficial, and there is a preference for the NDA in the 2024 general elections.
Around 63% of the people are giving Subrat Pathak, the sitting MP, a favourable score based on the ground-level survey, reflecting their expectations and satisfaction with his work.
In India News’ survey, the people of Kannauj Lok Sabha were asked the same questions as in our survey. We evaluated the ground performance based on 10% attention, assigning 1 number out of 10. The result of the ground performance is 0.65 out of 1, or 65%.
Parliamentary performance, ground performance, and India News’ survey score for the parliamentarian are now known. Kannauj’s public opinion on social media was also surveyed. The social media score was evaluated at 10% attention, assigning 1 number out of 10.
In the social media survey, the parliamentarian scored 0.41 out of 1, which is below average, approximately 41% favouring him on social media.
The evaluation of the parliamentarian’s work in Parliament, such as attendance, the number of questions, use of parliamentary funds, and special contributions, resulted in a score of 0.85 out of 1.
The ground performance evaluation gave him a score of 0.65 out of 1. In the social media survey, he scored 0.41 out of 1. In our ground survey, the parliamentarian received a score of 4.41 out of 7, and when combined, he gets 6.32 out of 10. Based on this, Kannauj’s public has given him a satisfactory score of 63%.
The ground-level survey reveals widespread satisfaction with MP Subrat Pathak. Voters express contentment, emphasising the impactful measures that have led to his passing grade. There’s a strong demand for continued effective initiatives in the Kannauj constituency.
