Ahore is one of the 200 assembly seats in the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Previously a part of the Marwar princely state, Ahore holds significant geographical and historical importance. The area is home to the famous Chamunda Mata and Arjun-Subhadra temples. Situated near the Gujarat border, this region was once renowned for its stone-throwing festival, Holi. However, the historic festival was discontinued after a certain incident. The majority of the assembly constituency is rural, and agriculture is the main source of livelihood for the people. Currently, this seat is under the control of the BJP, with Chhagan Singh Rajpurohit as the MLA. In the political history of this seat, out of the 14 assembly elections held so far, Congress has won 8 times, while BJP has won 3 times. In 1957, Congress’s Madho Singh represented this constituency, and in 2018, BJP’s Chhagan Singh Rajpurohit secured victory.
As for the caste demographics of the Ahore assembly seat, there are approximately 268,000 voters. The Meghwal community has 42,000 voters, Anjana Choudhary has 40,000, Meena voters have 29,000, and Rajpurohit voters have around 28,000. Other demographics include 17,000 Rabari voters, 15,000 OBC voters, and 11,000 ST community voters. Additionally, there are 11,000 Jain voters, 15,000 Kumhar voters, 13,000 Rawana Rajput voters, and 10,000 Bhomiya voters.
