All Assam ministers are set to embark on a collective visit to Ayodhya on February 22, where they will seek darshan of Ram Lalla, announced State Tourism Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah. Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and extending greetings to the nation on the occasion of Pran Pratishtha of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya, the state cabinet marked the auspicious event with a series of decisions.

During the cabinet meeting, Minister Baruah revealed that approval was granted for the promotion of eligible Assistant Professors in provincialized colleges of the state. The cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, emphasized its appreciation for PM Modi’s role in the significant occasion.

On Republic Day, state ministers are slated to hoist national flags in various districts as part of the celebratory events. Additionally, the cabinet greenlit the Swahid Kanaklata Baruah State University Bill for establishment in Gohpur, to be introduced in the upcoming assembly session.

In a bid to foster comprehensive development in the Bodoland Territorial Council areas, the cabinet approved Rs 400 crore under the SOPD-G scheme. Other approvals included the Assam Public Examination (Measures for Prevention of Unfair Means in Recruitment) Bill, 2024, aimed at curbing unfair practices during examinations, de-reserving VGR/PGR land in Golaghat, and land settlement in favor of landless individuals in 10 districts under Mission Basundhara 2.0.
