In a joint effort, Assam forest staff, assisted by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawans, successfully rescued a 100-kg python in Udalguri district on Wednesday. The reptile was found in the Bogamati Deuchunga area near Bhergaon and later released in the Barnadi forest area.

A Udalguri district forest staff member reported that the python’s safe rescue was accomplished with the support of SSB jawans. “We released it in the Barnadi forest area,” the forest staff mentioned. The python, a significant specimen weighing around 100kg, was handled with care during the rescue operation.

The Assam Forest Department, highlighting its mission, stated, “The Department of Environment and Forests, Assam, is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the environment, safeguarding the state’s forests and wildlife, preserving our rich cultural heritage, and fostering compassion for all living creatures.”
