Tushar Thakur, a 23-year-old aspiring Army officer from Greater Kailash, Jammu, is hospitalized at DMCH, Ludhiana, following a traumatic incident on May 19.
While traveling from Jammu to Ahmedabad for an SSB interview, Tushar intervened to stop youths from smoking on the train, allegedly prompting them to push him out of the moving train near Ludhiana railway station.
Despite immediate reporting to GRP, Ludhiana, an FIR was only registered on June 24, over a month after the incident, following Tushar’s communication from his hospital bed.
Tushar, currently unable to speak or sit due to spinal injuries, provided a detailed account via a typed statement, describing the altercation and its consequences.
Inspector Jatinder Singh from GRP Ludhiana confirmed the registration of an FIR under IPC sections 308 and 34, with ongoing investigations including CCTV footage review from the railway station and surrounding areas.
Family Needs Financial Help
Facing substantial medical expenses, Tushar’s family has spent Rs 8 lakh on treatment and anticipates needing Rs 10 lakh more for spinal surgery, seeking financial assistance for his recovery and future care.
