In a meeting on the sidelines of the AI Action Summit in Paris, Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the “incredible opportunities” artificial intelligence (AI) offers for India. Pichai expressed optimism about the potential for closer collaboration between Google and India to help drive digital transformation in the country.

“I’m delighted to meet with PM Modi today in Paris. We discussed the incredible opportunities AI will bring to India and ways we can work closely together on India’s digital transformation,” Pichai shared on X (formerly Twitter).

AI’s Role in India’s Future Growth

The conversation also highlighted how AI can be a key driver of innovation, growth, and investment for India in the coming years. Pichai sees AI as a catalyst for India’s future, creating new possibilities in various sectors, including healthcare, education, and business.

PM Modi’s Vision for India-France Collaboration

Earlier in the day, PM Modi addressed the India-France CEOs Forum, emphasizing the importance of fostering innovation and strengthening economic ties between India and France. He highlighted how leaders from both nations are coming together to create opportunities that will benefit future generations.

PM Modi also stressed the shared values between India and France, saying, “India and France are not just connected by democratic values, but also by deep trust, innovation, and serving the people.” He emphasized that the partnership between the two countries goes beyond bilateral relations, extending to addressing global challenges.

The AI Action Summit, co-chaired by PM Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron, ended with a high-level segment featuring global leaders and policymakers. The summit showcased the increasing cooperation between India and France in areas of technology and innovation, positioning both countries as leaders in the global digital transformation.
