6.0-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Indonesia; No Causalities Reported

Indonesia's Sulawesi region experienced a 6.0-magnitude earthquake on Saturday. Authorities confirmed there was no tsunami risk. The EMSC recorded the quake at 5.9 magnitude and 109 km deep. No immediate damage or casualties were reported following the tremor.

Earthquake of 6.0 struck Indonesia’s Sulawesi island on Saturday, a report from Indonesia’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) that was uploaded to the X platform said. The agency described, “there was no potential for a tsunami.”

A slightly lower magnitude of 5.9 was reported by the European Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), and it noted that the quake struck at a depth of 109 km (68 miles).

So far, there have not yet been any direct reports of casualties or property damage caused by the earthquake.
