Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal was accused on Saturday of having been “attacked by goons” during his padyatra in Delhi. This came after AAP accusations that he was assaulted as the former Delhi chief minister continued his padayatra in Vikaspuri, West Delhi.

“Yesterday I went to Vikaspuri and they attacked me with their goons. Do you want to kill me? If you have the courage, contest elections against me,” Kejriwal stated at a campaign rally, as reported by ANI.

He also targeted the BJP saying that he is not after power or the chief minister’s post.

You (BJP) have government in 22 states, I have built 500 mohalla clinics in Delhi; you should have built 5,000 clinics.I am not greedy for power. I have left the CM chair, I am not worried whether I will come back or not; I am worried that Delhi’s work should not stop, he said. He further assured the gathering,.You don’t need to pay water bills. Make me CM again, and I’ll write off your water bills.

Party leaders of AAP, reacting to the allegations made by the party, accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of planning the incident in Vikaspuri and warned that if Kejriwal is harmed, the BJP will be responsible. However, no video evidence of the alleged attack has been released by the party, and the police said they had not received any official complaint from AAP.

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh claimed that he was attacked by “BJP goons” on his way back from an election campaign in Vikaspuri during a press meet.

“The police complicity in the incident clearly proves that there is a grave conspiracy to kill Kejriwal. The BJP has become an enemy to his life,” Singh declared.

When asked why no formal complaint had been filed with the police, Singh replied that it was the police’s responsibility to investigate the incident. “The police can take cognizance of the incident and conduct its probe,” he noted, adding that AAP is currently seeking legal advice for further action.

The BJP dismissed AAP’s allegations saying Kejriwal was only being protested by locals who were not satisfied by the dirty water supplied in their houses.
