SPANDAN EVENT HELD TO SPREAD THE MESSAGE OF ART MATTERS IN LIFE

Vrindan Foundation for Art and Culture is a non-profit organization that provides artistic support to the community. The organisation seeks to instill in people the belief that self-care and nourishment, instinctively paves a way for community welfare and prosperity. It aims to foster the idea that performing and visual arts can also empower individuals rather than just entertain them. It can aid in rising above economic poverty while also improving the lives of everyone they touch.

Recently Vrindan Foundation for Art and Culture hosted an event Spandan wherein they showcased performances that aimed at spreading the message of Art matters in life.

The evening began with the ceremonious lighting of the lamp by all the members of the foundation and three little aspiring artistes followed by a hymn sung by a little dancer and singer in the praise of Goddess Saraswati.

The performances were abstract yet conceptual and technically precise presentations, revolving around the idea of the existence of Rhythm in life.

The first one was a dance-music collaborative by four of the renowned and accomplished performers of Vrindan Foundation- Smt. Archana Singh, Shri Dipanker Roy, Shri Saubhagya Gandharva and Shri Arunangshu Chaudhury titled as ‘The Eternal Elements of Life’.

The repertoire of Indian Classical Kathak Dance, through the lens of the contemporary soundscape of Indian and Persian percussion and melody, gave a different dimension to this presentation.

The next performance, titled as Vibrance was an ensemble of rare traditional percussion that signified the linear and the cyclic order of rhythm through its different dynamics, such as inertia, motion, oscillations, rotation, crescendo and the ultimate liberation by acclaimed maestros of their own genres of percussion- Shri Mani Prasad on Nakkara, Shri Sujoy Chakrobaorty on Srikhol, Shri Manish Sharma on Cajon and Shri Arunangshu Chaudhury on Tabla.

A unison of raw and sophisticated rhythmic grooves of India and different genres of world music helped to create a unique refreshing sound.

Arunangshu Chaudhury one of the performer of the evening and tabla exponent said, “This is an initiative by the foundation that envision solace-as music or different form of arts in the community. The common people can experience the spirit of rhythm in life through our different musical grooves of traditional percussions and classical dance.”
