Folks who are a minority are the ones renovating their living space without incorporating their rendition of arch de triomphe. Interior designers, architects and decorators have a new trend montage with arches at its focal point. Apartments and houses in modern India hare being flanked by these curved and playful shapes. These curvy shapes are finding their way across homes. They pose as a grand and imposing passage, which is a dialogue between two living spaces.
This profile is not only limited to alcoves (inset courtesy instagram @indiatoday_home) and passages but extends to mirrors and wooden doors as well. There is an unparalleled buoyancy to these shapes than the regular square shaped pointed openings.
One of this year’s finest interior design trend is arches; bathroom mirrors or the door of a wooden cabinet. We had a feeling arches were going to trend and are not they, lending a distinctive feature to an entire architectural design. The smooth curves of arched doorways are easing the sharp edges that have been applied for so long in additions and renovations.
Inset is a contemporary bathroom with clean lines and deep yet subtle hues. This is from the expansive portfolio of Mumbai-based interior firm Essajees Atelier (instagram @essajeesatelier). Their profile is dotted with photographs of these charming curvy fellows (winks) perched in several different spaces.
Taking our attention now to an airy room (inset; courtesy www.smalldesignideas.com) Round arches are used in the construction of windowpanes in addition to interior arches. The result is a chic and sophisticated appearance of this room which is sure to get the likes on the ‘gram. There is no complaining about these ‘arcs and panes’.
