Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula Sushil Sarwan announced an extension of the deadline for online applications for various agricultural equipment under the SMAM scheme by the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Haryana. The new deadline is now January 15, 2024, as opposed to the initial date of December 31, 2023.

According to Sarwan, the SMAM scheme offers subsidies on agricultural equipment such as power weeders, multi-tool bars, boom sprayers, chaff cutters, silage cutters, fertilizer spreaders, briquette making machines, hydraulic press straw bales, ploughs, subsoilers, planters, rice transplanters, winnowing machines, reaper binders, threshers, and various other machines.

Rotavators, potato sowing machines, and tractor-driven power weeders have recently been added to the list of subsidized equipment. Farmers interested in purchasing these machines can apply online on the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department’s website (www.agriharyana.gov.in) until January 15. Each farmer can avail subsidies on a maximum of two different types of agricultural machinery. Those who applied for two machines by December 31 can now benefit from subsidies for the newly included equipment by making online changes to their selection.

For additional information, farmers are encouraged to contact the Deputy Agriculture Director and Assistant Agricultural Engineer in Panchkula.
