Apni Party President, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari, engaged in a crucial meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Thursday, expressing profound anguish over the recent deaths of three civilians in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir.

In a statement released by the party, Bukhari urgently appealed to the Home Minister for swift justice, emphasizing the need to ensure that those responsible for the civilian deaths face severe punishment. “People in Jammu and Kashmir are deeply hurt due to this incident. They seek justice. The individuals responsible must face justice and receive severe punishment,” stated Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari during the meeting.

Highlighting the sensitivity of the situation, Bukhari further stressed to the Home Minister the critical importance of preventing civilian casualties and human rights violations while dealing with militancy and terrorism in the region. He firmly asserted that civilian killings cannot and should not be tolerated.

In response, the Home Minister assured Bukhari that measures would be taken to prevent any future civilian deaths, and those accountable for the recent tragic incidents would be held accountable under the law.

Additionally, Bukhari brought to the Home Minister’s attention the ongoing power crisis in Jammu and Kashmir, particularly during the harsh winter days. He urged the Home Minister to facilitate an additional supply of electricity to address the pressing needs of the people in the Union Territory. “The people of Jammu and Kashmir are suffering due to the power shortage crisis in these harsh winter days. There is an urgent need for additional power supply to the UT so that pressing needs are fulfilled. I request you to use your influence to ensure an extra amount of power supply to Jammu and Kashmir,” pleaded Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari.
