Union Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate several development projects worth over Rs 4,567 crore in Uttar Pradesh. He is also set to lay the foundation stone of a music college in the state during his day-long visit on Friday.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is also likely to be in Hariharpur village in Azamgarh, where the foundation stone of the music college will be laid by the Home Minister.
Amit Shah will begin his day’s proceedings with the opening of the Kaushambi Festival-2023.
After that, he will lay the foundation stone of Hariharpur Sangeet Mahavidyalaya in the evening.
Yogi Adityanath made a promise during his visit in August 2022 that a music college would be set up in the village and would be affiliated with the Bhatkhande University, Lucknow.
Hariharpur village is just 5 km away from Azamgarh; it is famous for its centuries-old legacy of music. Children of this village try to learn musical notes before learning alphabets, and musical instruments are their toys.
Children are so much involved in music that children below the age of five have firsthand knowledge of ‘sur’ and ‘raaga.’ Musical instruments such as the harmonium, sarangi, tabla, sitar, dholak, mridangam, and so on can be found in every household.
