Union Home Minister Amit Shah met senior officers in Delhi today to review the security situation in Manipur. There are reports of fresh violence in the state. He has focused on the unrest under which this region is going through and discussed steps toward peace and stability in the region.

It comes at a time when violent crimes have erupted in Manipur, which has been witnessing ethnic clashes for several months. So far, the state’s security forces were struggling to maintain the prevailing calm when these spontaneous outbursts of violence marred it.

According to sources, Shah will be holding an apparently more detailed meeting tomorrow at 12 pm where further strategy to the state’s security concerns will be considered. It is expected that the meeting would be later graced by the inputs from security experts and top officials from various government agencies.
