For the first time in history, a retiring pilot has taken his daughter along as co-pilot to make one final trip to Miami. The tear-jerking moment came aboard an American Airlines flight that caught the attention of millions through a viral Instagram video.

Farewell to Flights

In the video, he declared that this was his final day after having 32 years as an employee for the airline. He said, “This is my last day at American Airlines – 11,835 days.” Cheers erupted from the cabin that comprised his family and friends. He said, “They’ve been a little rowdy, but we’re going to have a good time and get you to Miami as fast as we can.”

His moment became even more special as his daughter sat in the cockpit with him. He exclaimed with full pride, “I am blessed to have my daughter sitting inside with me today as my co-pilot.”
