Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari on Wednesday asserted that Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks confirm the occurrence of fake encounters during the tenures of the National Conference (NC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Congress in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking at a party function here, Bukhari accused traditional political parties and their leaders of perpetrating violence and bloodshed in Kashmir over the years.
“The Union Home Minister has confirmed what was happening during the rule of NC, PDP, and Congress. He confirmed that fake encounters occurred during their rule. We also knew about it,” Bukhari stated.
He highlighted the tragic consequences of using youth as pawns for political gains, emphasizing that deceptive narratives and emotional slogans by traditional parties led to immense suffering and loss of life in the region.
“Traditional political parties and their leaders have been responsible for spilling the blood of innocent people. They have made youth scapegoats for their political dividends, using deceptive narratives and emotional sloganeering over the past several decades,” Bukhari asserted.
During the event, which aimed to welcome new members from Srinagar and Pampore into the Apni Party, Bukhari urged the youth to join hands with his party to forge a positive path forward for Jammu and Kashmir.
“These parties and leaders deceived our youth with misleading political narratives and emotionally charged slogans, and by setting unattainable goals. They paved the way for violence and bloodshed here. As a result, we have tragically lost thousands of our young people over the years and decades,” Bukhari lamented.
He emphasized that the Apni Party’s mission is rooted in truth and integrity, contrasting with the alleged deceptive practices of traditional parties.
“Our politics is based on truth and honesty. Unlike traditional parties, we will never mislead people for our political advantage,” Bukhari assured.
Calling for strengthened democratic participation and institution-building, Bukhari pledged to uphold constitutional rights and work towards a better future for Jammu and Kashmir.
“Together, we can change the scenario of J&K for the better. I assure you that the Apni Party will ensure that democracy and democratic institutions in J&K are strengthened, and the people receive all the rights guaranteed to citizens by the constitution of the country,” Bukhari concluded.
