Alia Bhatt was among the Bollywood celebrities who attended the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on Monday, January 22.  Alia’a saree for the occasion has been a topic of discussion among the fans. Alia was accompanied by her actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor and looked stunning dressed in a teal blue Mysore silk saree. Alia and the creator of the saree have now shared details about how scenes from the Ramayan were intricately handpainted on the pallu.

Alia Bhatt, on Tuesday, shared a mirror selfie of herself on Instagram stories and wrote, “100 hours of effort to make this pattachitra saree depicting the beautiful epic of Ramayana.” She re-shared a post that had more insight about the much-talked-about saree.

Stylist Amit Patel shared closer photos and video of Alia’s saree and shared, “Alia Bhatt’s custom turquoise blue Mysore silk saree from @madhurya_creations had important scenes from the Ramayan intricately handpainted on the Pallu. The breaking of the Shiva Dhanush, King Dasharathas promise, in the boat with Guha, the golden deer, the kidnapping, the Ram Setu, Lord Hanuman presenting the ring to Ma Sita and the Rama Pattabishek. These miniature paintings were done in a traditional “Pattachitra” style and took a 100 hours to complete on time for this momentous occasion of the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.”

Alia’s actor-husband Ranbir Kapoor also choose an all-white traditional attire to complement her. Dressed in a white kurta pyjama, Ranbir wrapped himself in a white shawl.

On the work front, Alia Bhatt is busy with the shooting of her upcoming film with Vasan Bala titled Jigra. Alia is not only playing the lead role in the film but is also the co-producer under her own production company Eternal Sunshine Production. The highly-anticipated film is expected to hit theatres in September 2024.
