Samajwadi Party’s Chief Akhilesh Yadav has recently declared, that the Enforcement Directorate and the Central Bureau of Investigation, do not have any need and should now close down.

He further stated that he plans to propose this idea to INDIA’s Bloc. Reports the Indian Express.

While giving an interview to newspaper, Yadav reasoned, “CBI aur ED band hone chahiye (the CBI and ED should be shut) … If you have cheated, there is the Income Tax department to deal with it. Why do you need the CBI? Every state has an anti-corruption department, use it if needed.”

Moreover, he also alleged, that these agencies, are now only being used against opposition parties.

He also added, they are used to make or break the government.

Later, the SP leader also queried about demonetization & said, “why these probe agencies hadn’t investigated “what went wrong during demonetisation….How did people convert their black money into white?”

Earlier, the former UP CM alleged, that the issue of electoral bond has made public aware of BJP’s alleged extortion tactics. Implying, that BJP allegedly engages in extortion by misusing ED and CBI raids.

“The government has made extortion strategies, and now with the electoral bonds it has been proven that no one could have done extortion the way the BJP has done.” said Akhilesh Yadav.

Political Landscape Of UP

Meanwhile, elections in Uttar Pradesh are being held in seven phases, so far, elections of First four phases have been completed. Later, the polling for remaining seats will take place on May 20, May 25, and June 1.

Previously, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP secured 62 of the 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, followed by Mayawati’s BSP with 10 seats. Akhilesh’s SP and the Congress party managed to win 5 and 1 seat respectively in the state.

This time, the competition in UP has become more interesting, as prominent political figures like Smriti Irani (Amethi), former Congress chief Rahul Gandhi (Rae Bareli) and Rajnath Singh (Lucknow) contesting seats in the country’s most populous state.
