The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has appointed former Indian cricket captain Ajay Jadeja as the team’s mentor for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup in India.
Ajay Jadeja, a former Indian batsman, will be guiding the Afghanistan team during the World Cup. The ACB made this announcement on October 2. Jadeja has participated in three World Cups (1992, 1996, and 1999) and has an impressive ODI career with 196 matches, amassing 5359 runs at an average of 37.47. He has six centuries and 30 half-centuries to his name in the ODI format. He has been assigned the responsibility of assisting the talented team in improving upon their previous winless World Cup performance from four years ago.
Afghanistan’s 2023 Men’s ODI World Cup journey will commence with a match against Bangladesh at Dharamsala’s HPCA Stadium on October 7th.
