The Ministry of Civil Aviation directed the airline to conduct an internal probe on the man who allegedly peed at an elderly woman traveling in business class on an Air India flight incident.
Earlier on 26 November the incident took place on an Air India flight from John F Kennedy international airport in New York to Delhi the flight was on its way.
“Ministry of Civil Aviation takes serious note on Air India urination case. MoCA has asked Air India to provide all the details of the incident. MoCA has also asked Air India to hold an internal probe into the matter and submit the report as soon as possible. The probe should be time-bound,” the top government sources said.
Meanwhile, the Ministry has asked for a detailed probe report by Air India. “Had the victim informed on the very day of the incident, strongest actions would have been taken by now,” the sources said.
“We encourage people to complain about all their grievances on the Air Sewa portal. We will ensure speedy justice for the victim. We asked Air India to submit a detailed probe report soon after the incident surfaced,” sources added.
Moreover, the ministry is waiting for the internal report, and if these allegations are found true that the Ministry will take strict action against the man who peed on the women.
“We would expect Air India too to take strict actions against crew members,” sources stated.
Earlier in the day Delhi Police reached the accused resident of Mumbai and will be arrested earliest.
“The accused is a resident of Mumbai, but his possible location is in some other state and the police team has reached there. We will arrest the accused at the earliest,” Delhi Police said.
Earlier on Wednesday a team was formed to nab the man who allegedly urinated on an elderly co-passenger.
Under sections 354, 509, and 510 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 23 of the Indian Aircraft Act, an FIR has been registered against the man on Wednesday.
Moreover, Air India airlines imposed 30 days travel ban on the man who allegedly peed at an elderly woman traveling in business class.
However, National Commission for Women has also sought detailed action taken against the man and NCW has also taken cognizance of the incident.
Furthermore, recounting the harrowing experience woman called the peeing incident “traumatic”. An investigation has been launched by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on an onboard passenger man in an Air India US flight urinated on a woman co-passenger, a senior citizen, seated in a business class seat.
