The AIADMK Constituency Allocation Committee held a meeting regarding the parliamentary elections at the AIADMK head office in Chennai. AIADMK leaders like KP Munusamy, Dindigul Srinivasan, Thangamani, SP Velumani, Benjamin and were of this discussion. Post the meeting, senior AIADMK leader D Jayakumar addressed the media and reiterated that there would be no alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party come what way.

He went on to talk about the INDIA alliance which has seen the TMC split out of the alliance followed by Nitish Kumar. “The DMK alliance here may break like the INDIA alliance. There are many contradictions among the alliance partners. There is no consensus among them,” alleged Jayakumar referring to the Lok Sabha elections.

When pressed about the alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the former TN Minister said, “Even if you wake us up from sleep in the middle of the night the answer is that there is absolutely no possibility of an alliance with the BJP. The BJP’s plan is to deceive the people of Tamil Nadu and gain a foothold in the state. K Annamalai tries to distract everyone by making allegations about things that never happened. He is also prioritizing himself more than the party. BJP has been in power for 10 years now – we will expose how the BJP betrayed the interest of Tamil Nadu and their failures during our Lok Sabha election campaign. We will also highlight the failures of the DMK government in our election campaign.”

Jayakumar alleged that the expelled AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam was “acting like a slave” to the BJP.
When questioned about AIADMK alliance partners, Jayakumar said, “Announcements regarding the AIADMK alliance partners will be made closer to the parliamentary elections.”
