Hujjatul Islam Wal Muslim Alhaj Agha Syed Hasan Al Musawi Al Safawi, president of Jammu and Kashmir Anjuman Sharia Shia and patron of the Jafaria Supreme Alliance Muzaffabad, has denounced the ongoing sectarian violence and looting in Parachinar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. He attributes these issues to a deep-seated real estate conflict and criticises the lack of response to the atrocities, emphasising that the only “crime” of the victims is their Shia identity.

Agha Syed Hasan condemned the brutal nature of the attacks, questioning if killing a young man who calls the prayer with a knife, is a solution to a real estate issue. He urged the Pakistani government to take decisive and responsible action to stop the massacres in Parachinar and called on the Pakistani people to recognise the severity of these crimes and hold their government accountable.

He stressed that instead of showing helplessness, the government should act firmly to maintain peace by severely punishing those responsible for the violence. Agha Syed Hasan’s call for action comes as the region experiences rising violence and sectarian tensions, raising concerns for the safety of the Shia community.

Recent reports indicate that at least 36 people have been killed and over 166 injured in the latest clashes, though some social media accounts suggest the death toll could be over 400. Mainstream media reports attribute the conflict to a land dispute between sectarian tribes, with Shia and Sunni groups at odds.
