The Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), the former ally of the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), is suffering back to back blows ahead of the forthcoming parliamentary polls. By bringing the alliance with the JJP to an end, the saffron BJP added to the woes of the JJP to some extent. Apart from this, the exodus of the state party president Nishan Singh and the JJP MLA Jogiram Sihag along with several other big shots, the party is witnessing back to back setbacks. In this series, the newly appointed Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has taken on the JJP leader and the former Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautla stating that JJP leader’s own party MLAs have pointed fingers at him and he should look inwards. The JJP leaders and Dushyant Chauatala should mull over ‘’what they have done and what they have not done’’. It is clearly evident that his own JJP MLA’s have cornered him inside as well as outside the house. Further, Nayab Saini said that, in such a situation, if a complaint comes against Dushyant Chautala, then all these complaints will be investigated.

Prior this, following its split from the BJP, the JJP leaders including Dushyant Chautala and his younger brother, the General Secretary of he JJP, have been targeting continuously the ruling BJP, the newly appointed state chief Nayab Saini along with former Chief Minister Manohar Lal and in a reaction to the same, the Chief Minister came up with the latest remarks cornering the JJP leaders and its former ally ahead of polls.

In this series, now Indian National Indian Lok Dal (INLD) leader and Dushyant’s uncle Abhay Singh Chautala also targeted his nephew saying that the report of the investigation into the liquor scam is with the government. The government also has the investigation report of the registry scam which needs to be made public without further delay. ‘’The government should come up in order to take necessary action against the former Deputy Chief Minister keeping in view his involvement in aforementioned scams.

Dushyant, who was the Deputy CM in the Manohar government, had held charge of 11 major departments including many important departments. While holding the portfolio of the Deputy Chief Minister during his tenure, Dushyant was accused of liquor scam, registry scam, and paddy scam. MLAs from his own party had levelled allegations of corruption against him which led to ruckus in the political corridors. Apart from this, there have been allegations of scam in the purchase of land for Hisar Airport. Despite the repeated clarifications given by Dushyant and Digvijay, these allegations of corruption as well as irregularities kept surfacing several times. Digvijay said that the party has all the recordings of the corruption allegations made so fae. JJP MLA and former minister Devendra Babli had also earlier termed the BJP-JJP led-state government corrupted then. At the same time, JJP MLA Ramkumar Gautam from Narnaund kept attacking the party and Dushyant Chautala by saying that Manohar Lal is an honest man, but the intentions of many people (Dushyant Chautala) are not good.

It is pertinent to mention that three days ago, JJP leader and National General Secretary Digvijay Chautala had given a statement that ‘’the mask of the government has changed, the government is old and it is old liquor in the new bottle. Even now the government is being run by former CM Manohar Lal which continues to result in continuous loot’’.

Similarly, during his visit to Hisar Mandi, the former Deputy CM attacked his former ally, the ruling BJP and Chief Minister Nayab Saini stating that today the purchase of HAFED has been transferred from the market agents to their agents which clearly depicts the ill-intentions of the ruling party adding to the woes of the agrarian community in the state.

The new Chief Minister has completely failed and has been unable to handle his responsibilities properly. In a bid to ensure the timely solution of the problem, he should come up with necessary steps having discussions with the concerned officials. In continuation to aforementioned, it is worth noting that the verbal spat between the BJP and the JJP stalwarts is most likely to result in widened rift in both factions in future. Recently allegations were made by Dushyant regarding the increase in illegal liquor sale in Haryana that as long as he was the minister of this department for 4 and a half years, he did not allow any such work to happen.. On Dushyant’s statements, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Barala also said that he is giving such statements out of frustration. While the Chief Minister Nayab Saini said that our government works on the basis of transparency, be it Manohar Lal Khattar’s government or now the one headed by me, there is no compromise on corruption. If any person is found involved in corruption, strict action will be taken.
