Taking charge of the review meeting at the District Administrative Complex in SAS Nagar, Mohali, on Friday, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Viraj S. Tidke urged NHAI officials to promptly address the black spots on the Chandigarh-Ambala Section of the National Highway within the Derabassi Sub-Division area. He emphasized that ensuring the safety of commuters is paramount, and it is our prime duty to make the highway safe and secure for smooth travel.
Tidke specified that crossing lights/blinkers should be installed and maintained properly, and turns should be widened, with the installation of rumbling strips where needed. Expressing concern over the longstanding issue of rainwater stagnation at McD Chowk, Zirakpur, the Additional Deputy Commissioner asked NHAI authorities to address the problem permanently.
He also urged NHAI to ensure cleanliness under the Zirakpur Flyover and remove any encroachments. ADC Viraj S. Tidke instructed NHAI authorities to address these problems in a time-bound manner.
Furthermore, the ADC requested NHAI to display Punjabi as the first language on signboards and ensure the correction of spellings.
