Actress Saumya Tandon, who played the role of Anita Bhabhi in the famous serial ‘Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain’ for 5 years, has been accused of faking being a frontline worker and getting the vaccine in a hospital in the Thane area adjacent to Mumbai. She has been accused of getting the Covid vaccine by making a fake ‘admin identity card’.
An identity card has surfaced in which Saumya Tandon’s picture is attached. It is noteworthy that in this identity card, her identity has been recorded as a frontline worker. Saumya Tandon has been accused of taking the vaccine as a frontline worker at the Parking Plaza Covid Hospital in Thane.
Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has taken cognizance of the matter and said that they will investigate the whole matter and bring out the reality of this matter. A claim is being made after the name of the actress concerned appeared in the investigation report of Thane Municipal Corporation. It has been learned that 21 fake IDs have been issued in this way so far. Of these, 15 people have been vaccinated using fake IDs.
The Daily Guardian spoke to Saumya Tandon, and denying the allegations the actress said, “It is very silly. I have not taken the vaccine from that place in Thane. This information is completely wrong.”
Tandon took to Twitter on Friday and wrote: “Contrary to some media reports claiming that I have taken my first Covid vaccine dose from A facility in Thane by dubious means is untrue. I have taken my first jab but from a centre near my house following proper procedures. Please don’t believe in unverified reports and claims.”
It is noteworthy that recently actress Meera Chopra was also accused of taking the vaccine by similarly faking as a frontline worker.
Earlier, Priyanka Chopra’s cousin Meera Chopra had also denied claims that she used a fake ID to procure the vaccine. Chopra received flack for posing as a front-line worker to get the first shot of vaccine in Mumbai. Niranjan Davkhare, the BJP’s Thane unit president exposed that the actress used unfair means to get vaccinated. He even shared a picture of the fake identity card that Meera Chopra submitted while getting the vaccination. However, the actress has persistently termed these allegations baseless.
