Car Insurance Renewals: All you need to know about it

Published

on

It is important to know every little detail about auto insurance policies to make sure you save the most and spend the least. Car insurance is a vast topic and with an industry so big, things are bound to get complicated. There are so many types of auto insurance policies in the market, with each company having its terms and conditions. One important part of owning car insurance is renewal.

Car insurance renewal might seem like a quick and simple process that does not require much thought process. But if you have been just paying the renewal price and nothing else every time your policy needs to be renewed, you could be missing out on great discounts and opportunities to save money on auto insurance policies.

This article will describe everything you need to know about car insurance renewals, the things to do, things to avoid, and things to do to save money and get better coverage. Let’s get started.

What’s Car Insurance Renewal?

All car insurance policies are not bought forever. You pay the price for a certain period and then the policy needs to be renewed to be active, just like your data subscription or your WiFi connection. This renewal either happens every year (annual) or twice a year (semi-annual). It solely depends on the policyholder which renewal cycle they prefer.

Policyholders usually get a notification, usually a mail somewhere around 30 to 45 days before their policy is about to expire. With the rise of digitization, it is very easy to renew your auto insurance policy. You can either get it done by a trusted, official insurance agent, or through your computer or smartphone on the auto insurance company’s website/application. You can also visit the insurance company’s office with your policy information and get it renewed there.

A big disclaimer; never trust anyone who pretends to call you from your auto insurance company and asks you for sensitive information such as your bank account details or credit card information. If they ask you to open a shady website or make a transfer, cut the call and contact your insurer immediately.

Saving Money During Insurance Renewal

There are some great ways you can save money and get better coverage during the renewal period. Since this is the time you can look at the policies you own, your requirements (which change with time), and other factors affecting your driving habits. Let’s take a look at the things you should do to save money while renewing your car insurance policy.

No-Claims Bonuses

If you did not make any insurance claims during the policy period, you could be eligible for no-claims bonuses. These bonuses are discounts that you get when you renew your policy. The amount of discount you get may vary, but it usually ranges from 20% to 50% (if you have made no claims for three consecutive years, you could get 50% off on the renewal price).

This is only applicable if you have not made any claims. So while renewing, check for any no-claims bonuses or ask your insurance agent for the same. Even a 20% discount is a big price cut.

Choosing New Policies

Everybody wants to get great auto insurance policies, where the prices are low, and coverage is excellent. Sadly, you might make the mistake of choosing the wrong car insurance company and be stuck with them. The policy renewal period is your chance to make a better choice.

If you are not happy with your current auto insurance company, then look for better car insurance companies in the market with better coverage at lower rates. Just make sure to keep your search specific to get the best results. For example, if you live in Texas, then look for Texas’ best cheap car insurance companies and find the one that suits you the best.

Renewal time is also the time when you can completely switch your auto insurance policy. For example, if you have reduced your car usage, or perhaps the place where you work has adopted a hybrid work routine with some days of office and some days of work from home, then how about switching to pay-per-mile auto insurance?

With pay-per-mile car insurance, you only pay for the miles you drive, just like gas. So if your monthly mileage has reduced significantly, and you do not need general car insurance, then the renewal period is the time to make the switch and get a better, more useful car insurance policy.

5 Advantages of Perforated Paper

Published

on

If you’re not a regular user of perforated paper you may be wondering what it exactly is, and how it differs from other paper.

Have you ever received some sort of mail with a section that says something like “just tear along the dotted line” followed by a line of tiny, microscopic holes making it easy to tear a portion of the page, instead of having to try to find a pair of scissors or attempting to rip the page in a straight line?

That is a perforated line, or a sheet of perforated paper.

Mostly used for business purposes, perforated paper can come as single, multiple, or a combination of horizontal and vertical perforations. Printing businesses can also supply perforated paper in a range of colors, weights, sizes, and customizable formats to fit virtually any need and printing equipment.

Uses for Perforated Paper

Perforated paper can be used for a wide range of applications where they prove more beneficial than regular or even pre-punched paper. You will most commonly see perforated paper used for:

  • Statements
  • Invoices
  • Notices
  • Direct mail
  • Raffle and event tickets
  • Coupons
  • Booklets and more.

Perforated paper has many advantages over other types of paper, here are five of those advantages.

  1. Cost savings

It is cheaper to buy paper already perforated than to try and perforate it yourself which used to be common for businesses to do.

Your business is not incurring more labor costs to do the perforating, and you won’t need to purchase a machine and the accessories to perforate paper. The cost of perforated paper is only slightly higher than the cost of regular paper.

  1. A wide selection is available.

In the past you usually had to do it yourself if the paper size you wanted wasn’t a common size. But today, perforated paper is available not just in normal letter and legal sizes, but also in 11″ by 17″ and 9″ by 11″.

Most come in either 20lb or 24lb bond with perforations offered in whatever positions you require.

  1. Time savings

Trying to set up and print your own forms with perforations is time consuming. You need to set up the machine correctly, load and unload it, and keep the machine maintained on a regular basis. You will also find yourself spending further time fixing any mistakes that occur while also dealing with paper jams.

Ordering perforated paper already formatted to your exact requirements ensures you get the right items arriving at the right time.

  1. Quality

Perforated paper used to have a reputation for regularly causing paper jams in copying machines. However, the papers used today by printing companies are of a superior quality and run smoothly through all copying machines, including laser and inkjet printers.

The paper is run through rollers to prevent potential curling. It is then sealed in moisture resistant reams to ensure consistent quality throughout transportation and storage.

  1. Variety of items

You can create virtually anything you can think of with perforated paper. A registration sheet for a conference or seminar, where one side holds details for the interested party, while the other side offers a place for them to write their information. They can tear along the perforation and return to confirm their attendance and provide their details, while keeping the rest of the sheet with the event details.

Larger sheets can split into several smaller ones to become coupons or raffle tickets. Pages can be perforated along the edge and bound to create custom workbooks or other teaching curriculum, for use in the office, school, church, or home.

These are just a few examples, but there are many other projects perforated paper can help you create.

META REPORTS ITS FIRST-EVER YEARLY DECLINE IN REVENUE FOR SECOND QUARTER

Published

on

Facebook and Instagram’s parent company Meta reported its first-ever yearly decline in revenue for the second quarter, announcing a 1 per cent drop to USD 28.8 billion. As per The Hollywood Reporter, the company also saw net income fall by 36 per cent, landing at USD 6.7 billion for the second quarter, while total costs and expenses rose by 22 per cent to hit USD 20.5 billion. Executives pointed to a “weak advertising demand environment” that is expected to continue into Q3, according to Meta’s earnings release. The company is forecasting revenue between USD 26-28.5 billion for the quarter. “We seem to have entered an economic downturn that will have a broad impact on the digital advertising business,” Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said during the company’s earnings call. “Given the more recent revenue trajectory that we’re seeing, we’re slowing the pace of (our) investments and pushing some expenses that would have come in the next year or two off to a somewhat longer timeline,” he added.

The top executive also said the company would be reducing its “headcount growth over the next year.” “Many teams are going to shrink so that we can shift energy to other areas inside the company, and I want to give our leaders the ability to decide within their teams where to double down, where to double down, where to backfill attrition, and where to restructure teams while minimizing (the impact) to the long-term initiatives,” Zuckerberg said. The company’s stock dropped slightly in after-hours trading following the results.

The results also largely followed a broader decline in the digital advertising market that is dinging rivals such as Alphabet and Snap.

Meanwhile, in its effort to compete with TikTok, Meta is rearchitecting Facebook and Instagram to place an emphasis on short videos and posts that its system recommends to people, The Verge reported.

CITROEN TARGETS MANY CAR SEGMENTS WITH THE C3 HATCHBACK

If Citroen is to be believed, then probably the most important thing about this car is its ride quality and the brand has made all the effort to give you a comfortable ride irrespective of the road conditions. The suspension indeed is tuned well to deal with all the challenges that Indian roads will throw at this car.

Published

on

French carmaker Citroen has launched the much-awaited C3 in the Indian market. The premium hatchback is the brands’ second car in India, but first in the ultra-competitive mass market space. With over 90% localisation, this Made-In-India model is the first product from the C-Cubed family of vehicles and is built at Citroen ’s manufacturing facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu.

Citroen is offering the C3 with two petrol engine options and both get manual transmission options.Use of dual tone colours on the dash makes the cabin look more attractive.

Design

Looks have always been a strong point of cars from the brand. We saw that with the C5 Aircross, Citroen’s first car in India and same holds true for the C3 as well. It is a looker no doubt and it seems the idea is to make it look like a mini-SUV. So, traits like a use of cladding all over the body, use of skid plates, roof rails or a higher ground clearance can be seen on the car. The beautiful use of chrome on the grille that incorporates the Citroen logo while the twin-DRLs really stand out when it comes to the face of the car. It comes with 15-inch wheels which look proportionate to its size although the door handles do look old-fashioned. The company is offering a good choice of colours on the car including a few dual-tone options which do enhance the appeal of the car.

Interior

Design is once again an important factor inside the C3. Use of dual tone colours on the dash does make the cabin look more attractive. The fit and finish and use of plastics also impress. Probably the biggest highlight inside the cabin is the big 10-inch touchscreen that is compatible with Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The screen is clear and responsive at the same time and comes with a lot of entertainment and convenience features. The all-digital instrument cluster looks nice but is small and misses out on a tachometer. Ergonomically the car scores well and there are many storage options all over the cabin. However, the C3 also misses out on some key features, even in the top variant. These include electric side-view mirrors, climate control and a lock/unlock switch. The 2nd row is surprisingly good on space and small families with like that. The car gets a boot space of 310 litres

Engine

Citroen is offering the C3 with 2 Petrol engine options and both get manual transmission options. First is a 1.2 litre naturally aspirated motor that makes 80 bhp and 115 Nm. It is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The second one is a more powerful 1.2 litre Turbo which makes 108 bhp and 190 Nm. This setup is also more enjoyable to drive as it ensures a faster pickup and a more spirited drive. The turbo model gets a 6-speed gearbox, and it is both smooth and responsive at the same time.

Ride & Handling

If Citroen is to be believed, then probably the most important thing on this car is its ride quality and the brand has made all the effort to give you a comfortable ride irrespective of the road conditions. The suspension indeed is tuned well to deal with all the challenges that Indian roads will throw at this car. This is one aspect where this premium hatch really impresses. The car also handles well and inspires good confidence even on corners. It gets disk brakes on the front and drums on the rear.

Prices

The Citroen C3 has been launched an introductory price of Rs 5.70 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) for the Live variant with naturally aspirated engine. These prices go up to Rs. 8.05 lakh for the 1.2P Turbo Dual Tone Vibe Pack in the Feel variant. The car is now available for retail at La Maison Citroën phygital showrooms in 19 cities while customers in another 90 cities can book the car online and get it home delivered. Deliveries for the C3 have already begun. Citroën is offering a standard vehicle warranty for two years or 40,000 km, a warranty on spare parts & accessories for 12 Months or 10,000 km, and 24/7 Roadside Assistance. The company will offer services like remote diagnostics.
