Ahead of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) election, the Aam Aadmi Party has decided to hold a party booth samvad from February 24 to March 10, where the party will discuss methods for winning the upcoming MCD elections. The senior leader of the AAP, Gopal Rai, has said that around 20 lakh new members have joined the party and will work towards the development of Delhi.

The AAP carried out several ways to engage new members as well as old party workers in order to implement new measures for the development of the party. Apart from door-to-door campaigns, a new number was circulated for people who wanted to engage with the AAP. In this samvad, the party members will collectively discuss corruption taking place in the MCD and will also form a booth committee to work for the upcoming MCD elections. The new members will soon receive their appointment letters, and on March 12 and March 13, the party will launch the ‘MCD Badlav’ campaign in the 70 Vidhan Sabha seats of Delhi. The AAP leader, Durgesh Pathak, has claimed that the BJP has not been working on the development and cleanliness of Delhi. As per the party, around 13,000 booths will be engaged in discussions regarding the development of Delhi.

The Aam Aadmi Party has also been pointing out the mismanagement by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). To this, BJP and the South DMC leader Inderjeet Sehrawat told The Daily Guardian, “There has been no development in MCD for the past seven years. There have been no new flyovers or bridges, the Yamuna River has not been cleaned thus far, and the money allocated by the Central Government has been wasted. They’ve spent all of their funds on advertising. Residents in Delhi have not seen any new developments.”

As notified by the State Election Commission, the MCD election will take place in April. With effect from February 23, lists of the polling stations will be released by returning officers in their respective ward offices.
