In an emotional appeal, AAP MLA Saurabh Bhardwaj on Thursday posted a video, where he can be seen wearing an oxygen mask and gasping for breath to urge the Centre and the Haryana government to provide oxygen, stressing that it is not the time to pull each other’s legs but to work together.

Bharadwaj and his family were admitted to an Apollo Hospital three-four days back after testing Covid positive. In the video posted on Twitter, the AAP leader can be seen wearing an oxygen mask and gasping for breath. “The hospital in which I am admitted has only three hours of oxygen left. When I removed this mask, I felt like some non-swimmer had been pushed into a pool and he was gasping for breath. I will appeal to the central government and the Haryana government to not stop oxygen. A lot of people are dependent on oxygen and without oxygen, these people will die just like fishes die in the absence of water. This is a time for all to come together to work and not pull each other’s leg,” Bhardwaj said in the video.

Delhi has been battling an acute shortage of oxygen in hospitals with Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia saying that in some hospitals no medical oxygen is left. He wrote a letter to UnionHealth Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan and informed him about the status of oxygen in seven government and 15 private hospitals in Delhi.

BJP State General Secretary Harsh Malhotra said that in view of how the situation of Delhi is prevailing, all the three corporations had already started preparing to make additional arrangements. “We aim to fight this battle of corona more firmly by preparing 620 additional Oxygen beds in corporation hospitals. Currently, south Municipal Corporations running 60 oxygen bedded hospital in Tilak Nagar MCD Hospital, North Municipal Corporation running 350 Oxygen bedded in Hindu Rao Hospital and East Municipal Corporation running 55 oxygen bedded in SDN Hospital. Kejriwal and his MLA’s are doing politics on Oxygen. The reality is that Kejriwal gives all the facilities to the so-called farmers, who are sitting in the Delhi border area but he is not going to request a delay in the supply of oxygen. Kejriwal and his company are not deterred from doing politics even in this pandemic situation,” he alleged.
